Today, we're going to talk a bit more about Wisify Tech Solutions' first product - Lipowise! Lipowise has been a maturing process over the years, evolving through several master's theses and some prototypes built at the Measurement Instrumentation Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto.
The goal was to digitize and innovate in the field of anthropometry and skinfold measurement technology, making it more accessible, reliable, and capable of extracting new indicators from assessments.
This journey led to the development of several prototypes and, ultimately, the Lipotool System, which featured software and a Bluetooth connection. This system evolved with significant hardware and software improvements, culminating in our current offering - the Lipowise Solution.
This solution includes a lightweight, practical, digital, and functional skinfold caliper, specifically designed for precision in anthropometric assessments. Today, we'll delve into some of its standout features, enhanced by the software:
- Lipowise communicates via Bluetooth with Android and iOS mobile applications;
- The Lipowise Android/iOS application provides a total of 48 equations applicable to 15 possible skin folds for estimating body fat percentage, all selectable according to the professional's preference;
- The tips of the skinfold caliper have controlled rotation to ensure a parallel contact surface, crucial for accurate anthropometric measurements;
- The skinfold caliper incorporates a patented mechanism ensuring constant contact pressure throughout the opening range of 0 to 50 mm or 0 to 100 mm, for the Lipowise Light and Lipowise Pro, respectively;
- Its unique 100/second sampling feature allows for the profiling and analysis of tissue compressibility, a key aspect in the study of body composition and anthropometry;
- The app's settings menu enables easy customization, such as selecting the steps for each appointment or choosing the protocol time (in seconds) for measuring skin folds.
